updated 4/18

In this years draft we currently have 8 draft picks.  We received 2 compansatory picks in the 7th round for the Free Agents we lost last year.

Our current picks are:

Round 1:  #9
Round 2:  #40
Round 3:  #76
Round 4:  #110
Round 5:  Pick was traded last year to the Patriots (drafted OG Chad Ward)
Round 6:  #182
Round 7:  #224
Round 7:  #249
Round 7:  #250

The Jags are going through a rebuilding mode so our main goal is to pick up quality players.  There may not be an immediate need for a position, but eventually there will be.  There are a lot of holes on this football team, so drafting an impact player at any position will be easy.  Fans have to understand that you can only fix so many problems through one Off Season.  The worst mistake this franchise could make would be to take a "NEED" pick and decrease our draft pool of players to choose from.

I have put together 2 (7-round Jag only ) Mock Drafts.  The First Mock Draft is with a projected trade, the Second Mock is with the actual picks.

Mock With Trade

1st Round:The Jags will trade the number 9 pick to Oakland and receive picks 21 and 23.
#21  DT Eddie Freeman Alabama-Birm  Could be the best DT in the draft.
#23 OT  Levi Jones Arizona State  He was the most dominant lineman at the Senior Bowl.

2nd Round:
#40   WR Javon Walker FSU  Has been on a tear since the end of the season.

3rd Round:
#76 C  LeCharles Bentley Ohio State  Bentley will bring a nasty side to the Jags OL.  Will erase the Finesse team tag that the Jags have.

4th Round:
#110 CB Rashad Bauman Oregon Bauman has some of the best man coverage skills in the draft, if he was a couple inches taller would have been a 1st Rounder.

5th Round:
No Pick

6th Round:
#182 QB J.T. O'Sullivan Cal-Davis  Very raw prospect, played well in the Senior Bowl.

7th Round:
#224 DE Grant Irons Notre Dame  Grant was a rare 2 time captain for the Irish.
#249 LB Jashon Sykes Colorado  Sykes was a first round prospect before a couple of injuries.
#250 QB/RB Woodrow Dantzler Clemson  Dantzler may be to short to play QB in the NFL but he is a playmaker, and thats what the Jags need.

Mock without Trades:

1st Round:
#9 DT Ryan Sims N. Carolina  Ryan has emerged from the shadow of teammate Julius Peppers.

2nd Round:
#40 OT Marc Columbo Boston College Probably the most underrated OT in the draft.

3rd Round:
#76 WR Tim Carter Auburn  May be the sleeper of the draft.  A little raw but has excellent measurables.

4th Round:
#110 C Seth McKinney Texas A&M  McKinney is the best pure Center in the draft.

5th Round:
No Pick

6th Round:
#182 J.T. O'Sullivan QB Cal-Davis  Very raw prospect, played well in the Senior Bowl.

7th Round:
#224 DE Grant Irons Notre Dame  Grant was a rare 2 time captain for the Irish.
#249 LB Jashon Sykes Colorado  Sykes was a first round prospect before a couple of injuries.
#250 CB  Errol Hood North Carolina  Errol has the size to handle larger receivers.  He plays tough man coverage.
